Safety Personnel Bulletins

In many respects, fluid power is more hazardous than electricitiy, However, it is ironic that fluid power has never been recognized and embraced as a defined occupational hazard by any safety organization and/or institution. It is also arguably the largest industry in the world with the least number of properly trained personnel.

Needless to say, this leaves safety personnel at a huge disadvantage - you cannot correct a problem, or convey a safety measure, if you are unaware that a problem exists in the first place, or you lack the proper training to convey safety measures to the appropriate personnel.

The FPSI™ has an aggresive plan of action for safety personnel. In addition to offering you this invaluable resource - safety bulletins, we are going to offer many other services such as certification training, safety videos, DVD's and CD's, and posters.

Ref. No. Description of Safety Personnel Bulletins

SPB-005 What this manufacturer of coil-tubing machines recommends about troubleshooting their hydraulic system could, in our opinion, cause severe injury, death, or substantial property damage.

SPB-004 Once again there is controversy about hydraulic systems safety.

SPB-003 Excellent advisory about preventing worker deaths from uncontrolled release of electrical, mechanical, and other types of hazardous energy.

SPB-001 Accumulator Safety - ball valves and "sound" don't cut the mustard!
