Technical Writer Safety Bulletins

Technical writers are the hard working people who spend hours upon hours in front of computer screens writing and producing the service and repair information that we rely upon so heavily to do our jobs safely and efficiently. They can also be looked upon as our "correspondence" mentors because we use the information they provide in the field, in the workshop, and in the classroom.

We invite technical writers to use the FPSI™ as a resource for technical advice, safety issues, and content - we simply want to be your partner! Let's work together to make the fluid power industry the safest industry in the world!

TWB-008 What this manufacturer of coil-tubing machines recommends about troubleshooting their hydraulic system could, in our opinion, cause severe injury, death, or substantial property damage.

TWB-007 This manufacturer's recommendations for testing their hydraulic motor could, in our opinion, cause severe injury, death, or substantial property damage.

TWB-006 Once again there is controversy about hydraulic systems safety.
TWB-005 Excellent advisory about preventing worker deaths from uncontrolled release of electrical, mechanical, and other types of hazardous energy.

TWB-004 SAE Code 61, SAE Code 62, and Caterpillar® 4-bolt flange confusion - There are many people who think that on-the-job training for hydraulics is adequate. Here is a prime example why it simply does not work. In fact, it can leave innocent people vulnerable to severe injury or death.

TWB-003 Accumulator Safety - ball valves and "sound" don't cut the mustard!

TWB-002 Unsafe service, repair, and troubleshooting recommendations are running rampant throughout the fluid power industry - and there is no end in sight!

TWB-001 Technical writers can play a pivotal role in creating a safe fluid power industry.
