The Fluid Power Safety Institute, in partnership with the Fluid Power Training Institute, develops "safety-based," hands-on, hydraulic workshops. The workshops focus heavily on maintenance and troubleshooting. However, they are also excellent for engineers who want to design "out of the norm." Technical writers also benefit immensely from these workshops because they learn how to write instructions which are both safe, and technically correct.
The term "safety-based," simply means that students learn how to design, service, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems from the point-of-view of safety.
The "hands-on" trainers themselves, which the students use throughout the workshops, feature safety devices which are currently not used in the industry.
Engineers learn unique ways to design hydraulic systems so they are safe and user-friendly. Maintenance technicians learn that there are ways to bleed air from hydraulic components, and troubleshoot hydraulic components, without EVER having to discharge pressurized oil to atmosphere.
If you want to understand hydraulics, with an "out-of-the-box" approach, these workshops are for you. Sign up early, because they sell out fast!
